4-2-15 bbq grill tips over and starts fire on deck of fdl duplex

A BBQ grill that tipped over in high winds apparently started  a fire on a second floor deck of a Fond du Lac duplex.  Firefighters were called to the residence at 225 North Park Avenue  shortly after 10pm last night and quickly extinguished the fire.   Fire chief Pete O’Leary says its against the law to use any flame producing device on balconies or decks in multi-tennant spaces.

4-2-15 arrests made in fdl guaranty bank robbery

A man and woman from Oshkosh have been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Guaranty Bank in Fond du Lac last month.  The Guaranty Bank inside the West Johnson Street Pick N Save store was robbed on Sunday March 15th and assistant police chief Steve Klein says the suspects, a 26 year old man and 35 year old woman,  were arrested Tuesday night in Oshkosh.  Klein says the […]

4-2-15 additional charges filed against former nfdl special ed teacher

Additional charges have been filed against a  former assistant special education teacher at Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac accused of sexually assaulting a special education student.  In addition to seven counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff,  an amended complaint includes seven counts of child enticement.  At an arraignment hearing Wednesday 45 year old Dominic Carmona pleaded not guilty to all 14 counts. Three Fond du Lac police officers have received promotions.  Fond du Lac assistant police chief Steve Klein says Jason Laridaen has been promoted to captain, Corby Gross will be lieutenant and Nick Hahn has been promoted to detective.   The promotions are subject to Police and Fire Commission approval.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State education officials say more Wisconsin high school graduates are taking Advanced Placement exams and earning scores high enough for college credit.  The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's annual report on AP exam participation shows 34 percent of graduating seniors in 2014 took at least one exam.
