A motorcycle accident in Dodge County has seriously injured the motorcycle operator. The crash happened Friday afternoon on Highway 151 and County Highway DE in the town of Calumus. Investigators say a 44 year old Madison man was operating a motorcycle southbound on 151 when a van pulled onto the highway from County trunk DE, striking the motorcycle. The motorcycle operator was flown by helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison. The driver of the van was not injured. The southbound lane of US 151 was closed briefly due to the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
