A 45-year-old Ripon man accused of hiding his brother’s body has been charged.  Robert Diamentis made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Wednesday on charges of hiding a corpse, failing to report a death and obstructing.  District attorney Eric Toney says Diamentis is accused of placing the body of 45 year old Richard Diamentis in a barrell at a residence on Olden Road after his brother died back in February.  The body was discovered Saturday when sheriff’s deputies made a welfare check.  According to a criminal complaint Diamentis told detectives his brother suffered a medical condition which causes mobility and coordination issues and was very difficult to care for.  He says his brother died February 24th, but he didn’t report the death because he was concerned people would accuse him of mistreating his brother.  He initially lied to detectives  that his brother was in a Fond du Lac nursing home.  Bail was set at $50,000 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 26th.  The invesrtigation is ongoing, including determining a cause of death and additional charges could be filed at a later date.
