The Fond du Lac High School graduation rate is slightly higher than the statewide average.   The Department of Public instruction said Wisconsin’s graduation rate last year was at 88.6 percent, up slightly from the year before.  Fond du Lac school superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says locally the graduation rate is above 90 percent.  For many years in the late 80s and early 90s Fond du Lac’s high school graduation rate was below the statewide average.  “I think a lot of the things that we have in place to help kids not only at Fond du Lac High School but programs such as Fondy Central, a graduation two program option that we run down at the Boys and Girls Club.  We help them get a high school diploma,”  Sebert told WFDL news. For students who completed high school, Fond du Lac is below the statewide average of 59.3 percent enrolled in a college or university.  “Four year colleges and universities we have just over half, about 52 percent and when you team that with kids that go on to two year schools, either technical or colleges, we get roughly  15 percent.  So we get right in that two-thirds ballpark of kids going on for some form of higher education.”
