A Brandon man charged with possession of child pornography and under investigation for child sex assault is due back in court this week. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday for 38 year old Scott Knuuttila on charges of possession of child pornography. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Cameron McGee says Knuuttila is also under investigation for the sexual assault of a child in Stevens Point. McGee says detectives are investigating whether there are other potential victims. Knuuttila is being held in the county jail on $100,000 cash bond.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
