5-16-15 deadly fire in waupun-victim identified

Authorities have identified the man killed in an apartment fire in Waupun.  Waupun Fire Chief B.J DeMaa says the victim has been identified as 54 year old Todd Conn.  He was found dead in his apartment.  DeMaa says the state fire marshal is involved in the investigation but the cause is not believed to be suspicious.  Firefighters were called to an apartment building on West Brown Street about 10pm Thursday. 5-15-15 brandon man charged with possession of child porn

Bail was set at $100,000 cash for a Brandon man charged with possession of child pornography.  Thirty eight year old Scott Knuuttila made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Thursday.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says there is also an active investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving Knuuttila .

Fond du lac mountaineer Andy Land says its great to be home.  Land returned to Fond du lac last weekend after surviving the deadly  earthquake and avalanche two weeks ago on Mt. 5-15-15 budget panel approves walker proposal limiting welfare

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Legislature's budget committee has approved Gov. Scott Walker's proposal reducing the number of years adults can receive welfare benefits.  The Republican-controlled Joint Finance Committee approved the change Thursday. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Legislature's finance committee plans to reject a proposal in Gov. Scott Walker's budget that calls for expanding the state's Family Care program and ending the IRIS program. 5-15-15 three vehicle accident on w. johnson street-no serious injuries

Nobody was seriously injured in a three vehicle accident on West Johnson Street.  Shortly before 5pm Thursday rescue personnel were called to the scene on West Johnson near the Forest Mall after receiving a report that one person may have been  trapped in a vehicle.   But when the ambulance arrived all of the occupants were out of their vehicles.  One person received what were described as “very minor” injuries.

5-15-15 amtrak fire-milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Fire Department says all passengers made it out of an Amtrak train after a fire in the locomotive.  Cassie Taylor, the department's office assistant, says firefighters were notified of the fire in the passenger train just after noon Thursday.  Citing dispatch logs, Taylor told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel everyone was evacuated from the train.  The fire was reported in the engine.  The incident in Milwaukee […]
