6-2-15 sex offenders will be located near brownsville

todayJune 1, 2015

The state Department of Health Services will not change the location of  where two high risk sex offenders will be living despite public protests.  That according to a spokesperson from state representative Mark Born’s office.  The spokesman told WFDL news the Department made the decision after representative Born and state senator Scott Fitzgerald wrote the Department a letter last week asking them to reconsider.  The lawmakers wrote that allowing two Chapter 980 individuals to be placed next to the residence of two young children is simply unacceptable. The individuals will be living at a residence on Highway 49 a little more than a mile west of Brownsville.   Dodge County Sheriff  Dale Schmidt says he’s disappointed with the decision and concerned about how this will impact two neighbors in the immediate area who have young children.  Schmidt says the two subjects are under strict supervision and says the public should report anything that appears suspicious or out of the ordinary. The home is owned by Fond du Lac attorney Kirk Everson, who owns several properties that house released sex offenders.
