At approximately 530am on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of mailboxes being vandalized just east of the City of Fond du Lac. Initial reports indicate that approximately 50 mailboxes were damaged or pulled from the ground and thrown in the roadway. The mailboxes were located on Rienzi Rd., Grandview Rd., Rienhardt Rd., Walnut Rd. and CTH’s H and K. The Fond du Lac City Police Department also reported 7 mailbox vandalisms on the portion of Rienzi Rd. that is located in the City of Fond du Lac. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation. If anyone has information regarding this vandalism please contact the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Tipline at (920) 906-4777.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
