6-16-15 heavy rains cause street flooding in appleton

APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Heavy rains have caused street flooding in Appleton.  Appleton’s Department of Public Works and local law enforcement agencies have been overwhelmed with callers reporting flooded streets.  Flooded roads are reported in the City of Appleton, Grand Chute and other cities in Outagamie County. The sheriff’s office says one area in the Town of Freedom was reported to have several feet of water. No damage to houses has been reported to the sheriff’s office.  The National Weather Service reports 2.69 inches of rain in Appleton and just over 2 inches northwest of Green Bay as of about 5:15 p.m. Monday.
