On Tuesday June 16, 2015 at approximately 5:20am, the Fond du lac County Communications Center received a report of a one vehicle roll-over accident with one female subject lying in roadway on STH 44-49 and Pollack Road in the Town of Metomen. The Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office along with Brandon-Fairwater Fire Department and Ripon Ambulance responded to the scene. Initial investigation indicates that 18 year old driver and lone occupant, Ariel Igel of Ripon was traveling northbound on STH 44/49. Igel’s lost control of her vehicle when it hit the gravel portion of the roadway, struck a culvert, and then rolled several times causing Igel to be ejected from the vehicle. Igel was transported to Ripon Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Flight for Life was also dispatched to meet Ripon Ambulance at Ripon Medical Center.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
