Law Enforcement Agencies within Fond du Lac County have combined to form a Traffic Enforcement Task Force. Funded by a grant from the Wisconsin DOT’s Bureau of Transportation Safety (BOTS), the enforcement initiative involves the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Fond du Lac, Ripon and the North Fond du Lac Police Departments. Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the task force will be working I-41, USH 151 and STH 23/Johnson Street in Fond du Lac/Fond du Lac Street in Ripon. Each agency will work within their own jurisdictions, working the same dates/times in a coordinated effort to crack down on speeding as well as distracted driving, impaired driving and other traffic offenses in an effort to reduce the number of preventable traffic deaths to zero in Wisconsin.
