A Fond du Lac woman was killed in a two vehicle traffic crash on the Highway 151 Bypass. The Sheriff’s Office says a car operated by 80 year old Michael Butterfield of Fond du Lac was attempting to turn from the northbound lanes of the Bypass to travel west on Rienzi Road and turned his vehicle into the path of a southbound pick-up truck. A passenger, 86 year old Susan Butterfield died at the scene. Michael Butterfield received non life-threatening injuries. The pick up driver, 45 year old Andrew Lang, of Fond du Lac was not injured. The accident happened Thursday afternoon and remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
