Fond du Lac city officials are exploring an ordinance that would allow food trucks to operate throughout the city. Community Development director Diane Benson says the City’s current ordinance is limited to operating food trucks in the downtown and they must be associated with a restaurant. “So its a very limited ordinance and we’d like to potentially see that expanded if the council supports that as well as the advisory park board,” Benson told WFDL news. “…if so we would put something together presenting to the council at a later date.” The Fond du Lac Advisory Park Board will discuss a potential ordinance at their meeting Monday night. The issue is on the city council agenda for discussion next week.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
