Fond du Lac fire officials say they are concerned about people trespassing on the site of an arson fire that destroyed a vacant former convent in Fond du lac. Division chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase says the site has been declared unsafe and uninhabitable. “Its very dangerous. On the far end of that building there are floors that are missing stuff and if somebody is up there running around they could go right through the floor,” Haase told WFDL news. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
