6-13-15 gray wolf population rises in wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin wildlife official says the state's gray wolf population has gone up by about 13 percent in the past year.  David MacFarland with the Department of Natural Resources tells the Wisconsin State Journal that a preliminary estimate says there are 746 gray wolves in the state.  It's the first increase in the estimated population since hunting and trapping of gray wolves was legalized in 2012. 6-12-15 naked intruder convicted

A Fond du lac  man has been convicted of  a series of home invasions.  At a plea and sentencing hearing Thursday afternoon Lucas Leffel  pleaded no contest to three counts of attempted second degree sexual assault.  Several other counts were dismissed and read into the record.   Police say Leffel admitted to entering four homes in the southeast side of town while naked last year.  A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

6-12-15 bond reduced for fdl man accused of stealing from scrap metal company

Bail has been lowered for a Fond du Lac man accused of stealing more than $100,000 from Sadoff Iron and Metal company.  Donald Krueger stood mute at his arraignment hearing Thursday afternoon and the court entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.  Judge Dale English lowered bond from $100,000 to $2000 cash.  Krueger and his alleged accomplice Daniel Christenson of Wild Rose waived their preliminary hearings last Friday on […]
