6-27-15 hometown bank purchases farmers exchange bank

Hometown Bank, has is acquiring Farmers Exchange Bank.  The transaction is expected to close before the end of the year.  The merger was initiated and approved by Hometown Bancorp's board of directors. 6-26-15 marian university cuts eight full time positions

Eight full time positions are being eliminated as part of more than $1 million in cuts at Fond du Lac’s Marian Univeristy.  That according to a mem sent to faculty and staff by interim president  Bob Fale.   The Marian Board of Directors approved the  cuts at a meeting last month.  Four  faculty positions in art, English, foreign language, information technology and music are being eliminated.  Four full time and two […]

6-26-15 retlaw pays its bills-will have its liquor license renewed if credit card clears

It appears the historic Retlaw Hotel will get its liquor license after all.  After the Fond du Lac city council voted Wednesday night not to renew the licenses the hotel made a credit card payment Thursday.  City manager Joe Moore says the $5600 credit card payment in addition to two checks totaling $55,000 sent Wednesday would cover the entire amount owed for utlity bills and property taxes.  "If their credit […]
