todayJuly 8, 2015

The Fond du Lac fire chief says he will propose several new equipment purchases in next year’s budget.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary gave the city council a budget preview at Wednsday night’s meeting.  O’Leary says the department wants to purchase an emergency generator for station three.  “So if we have a power outage they’re still operational,”  O’Leary said.   O’Leary told the council the department also wants to upgrade its station alerting system.  “That’s one of the things we found during the accredidation process that needs some help and try to streamline and speed up our ability to get the calls and have a more reliable system.”  O’Leary says the department is also looking at a Jt. Public Safety Training Center.  “Working on a parcel in a business park down South Main Streeet west of Highway 41.  Hopefully we’ll put some money toward the design of that training facility,”  O’Leary said.  O’Leary says the department also wants to purchase automatic CPR machines for cardiac arrest patients.
