A Fond du Lac city councilmember is expressing his concern about two appointments to the Fond du Lac Advisory Park Board.  Councilmember Gary Miller cast the only no vote on a recommendation to appoint  Deobrah Doll and Douglas Teletzke to the board.  Miller says its not personal.  He says both applicants are probably fine individuals.   He says he’s concerned that they come to the board with a predisposed agenda after serving on the Lakeside Park  Exploratory Committee.  “First of all their service on the exploratory committee I do not question.  But they’re predisposed and and they’re predisposed to an agenda specifically for Lakeside Park,”  Miller told WFDL news.  “I had several people talk to me about two people from that (Lakeside Park Exploratory) committee being on the advisory park board and I had been thinking about it since the agenda came out and I do not agree with the appointments.”   Council president LeeAnn Lorrigan says she doesn’t have a problem with the appointments.  “I don’t think its a conflict.  I think they (Doll and Teletzke) took an interest in our parks,”  Lorrigan said.  “…usually agendas are set by the city more than the advisory board members.”     The committee recently finished its work exploring improvements and development options as a way to attract more people to the park.  One of the committee recommendations is locating a restaurant in the park.  In her application Doll said she would like to maintain green spaces, but also wants to see parks to be used as a gathering place for the community.  Teletzke says he is interested in preserving, maintaining and improving parks and recreation spaces to benefit the entire community.
