7-10-15 motorcycle injury accident

A motorcyclist received serious but non life-threatening injuries  in an accident last night in Fond du Lac County.  Rescue personnel were called to the scene on county Highway G near Auburn-Ashford Drive shortly after 10pm Thursday.  The motorcycle operator was flown by Flight for Life helicopter to the hospital with what were described as non life-threatening head injuries.

7-10-15 infant death update

Fond du Lac police are not releasing preliminary results of an autopsy involving the death of an infant, but are still investigating the case.  The 14 month old boy was found pulseless and not breathing earlier this week at the Maplewood Commons apartments on the corner of Martin Avenue and Pioneer Road.  Assistant police chief Steve Klein says detectives have not ruled out foul play.  "The investigation is still very […]

7-10-15 high speed chase demonstrates difficult balancing act officers face

7-10-15 fdl gas leak

On July 9, 2015 at 11:51 a.m. Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to a natural gas leak in the area of 358 East 9th Street.  A construction company was working in the area when they struck a six inch gas line.   Upon arrival fire crews evacuated approximately 40 residents in the surrounding area until it was determined to be safe.  Alliant Energy was contacted and arrived on scene rapidly to […]

7-10-15 wisconsin assembly approves 20 week abortion ban

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Assembly has passed a bill banning non-emergency abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.  The Republican-controlled chamber approved the bill 61-34 Thursday. The Senate passed the measure in June. It now goes to Gov. 7-10-15 uw regents approve state budget cuts

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has approved a budget that will absorb the first year of a $250 million cut in state aid.  The budget approved by the regents Thursday would reduce funding to the flagship Madison campus by nearly $59 million.  The system-wide $6.2 billion budget was approved on a voice vote.  The System will draw on $180 million from its reserves […]
