A Menasha man is charged in connection with an armed robbery in Ripon. Bail was set at $2000 cash for 18 year old Tristan Van Eperen on a charge of party to the crime of armed robbery and receiving stolen property. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 6th. According to the criminal complaint on July 22nd Van Eperen and another man robbed a Ripon man at gunpoint using a stolen CO2 pistol. Police say the robbery was drug-related.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
