MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee man won the biggest Megabucks’ jackpot in the game’s history. John Rumpel won the May 30th jackpot of $22.2 million. He decided to go with the cash option, so he’s taking home $15.7 million. The former high school teacher says his wife sent him to a convenience store for a gallon of milk and while he was there, he decided to buy a ticket.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
