An ex-marine and former Fond du Lac resident is suing Wisconsin Central Railroad, claiming the company fired him because he has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Chris Trombley filed the lawsuit in the Eastern District Court of Wisconsin in Milwaukee seeking a judgement under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Trombley, who now lives in North Carolina, claims he was fired from his job in the North Fond du Lac rail yard because of his PTSD, Trombley says his condition didn’t affect his job performance.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
