The Fond du Lac Public Works director says the city hopes to develop its newest neighborhood park next year. Jordan Skiff will update the advisory Park board on the South Park Avenue Park at their meeting Monday night. Skiff sys the park is situated on 4.75 acres near Wisher and Southern Edge Drive. “Right next to the railroad tracks, its meant to be a small neighborhood park,” Skiff told WFDL news. “We’ve had a sketch in place for a number of years to add a small playground, maybe a ballfield, some walking trails though some wetland areas.” In addition Skiff says there are plans the develop two more parks in the next couple of years….the Meadowlands Park off Country Lane near Rienzi Road and Primrose Drive and another park in the Hunter Grove subdivision near Highway K…north of Highway 23.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
