Fond du lac police say alcohol was found in the system of two twin toddlers who were severely beaten last month at a Fond du Lac apartment complex. One of the infants died and a Chicago man, Daniel Griffin was arrested and charged last week with reckless homicide and child abuse. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says standing on top of both infants putting his full weight on them. “Obviously its just a horrific crime, ” Klein told WFDL news. “What went through his (Griffin’s) mind nobody knows. The one 16 month old that was deceased had a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 percent in his system.” Griffin is due back in court this Friday for his preliminary hearing.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
