8-18-15 fdl county highway garage-land purchase

8-18-15 blood shortage

The American Red Cross is making an urgent plea for Wisconsin residents to donate blood.  Red Cross spokesperson Katie Gaynor says there is a looming shortage of the blood types most needed by patients.  Gaynor says overall blood donations in  the region have been approximately  1622 fewer per month in June and July this year than the previous 10 months.

8-18-15 ribbon cutting-new fdl government center entry

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held this evening on a new front entrance at the Fond du Lac city county government center.  County executive Al Buechel  says the new entry way will be handicap accessible and will include an elevator.  The ceremony starts at 6:5pm Tuesday night prior to the county board meeting.

8-18-15 fatal car crash victim identified

The victim of a fatal car crash early Saturday morning in Fond du Lac County has been identified.  Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says 20 year old  Jake Treptow of Fond du lac was pronounced dead at the scene on Lap Road north of Golf Course Drive in the town of Taycheeda.  He was a passenger in a car driven by 19 year old Jacob Zielicke of Mount Calvary.  Zielicke was […]

8-18-15 car vs. train update

A Fond du Lac man has been upgraded to fair condition following a car versus train accident in Fond du lac Monday.  The accident happened early Monday morning at the Scott Street  railroad crossing.  The driver of the car was extricated from the vehicle and flown by helicopter to the hospital.  Police are still continuing their investigation.

8-18-15 drowning victim identified

Authorities have identified the drowning victim on Lake Deneveu.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says 70 year old Chuck Westby of Fond du lac died when he jumped off a pontoon boat to go swimming Saturday night and didn’t resurface.  The body was recovered late Sunday afternoon.  Westby was a longtime Fond du lac insurance agent.
