The fair tweeted Monday that more than one million people visited the State Fair this year during its 11-day run, which ended Sunday in suburban West Allis. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman. Early Sunday morning the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to 911 call at N866 County Rd R Watertown, WI for an unresponsive woman in the parking lot. Emergency personnel responded and the woman was transported to Watertown Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. An elderly Nashota man has died from injured suffered in a motor vehicle crash in Dodge County last week. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says 87 year old Charles Scheurell died Friday at UW Hospital in Madison. Scheurell was involved in a crash on Highway 151 south of Forest Road last Wednesday when his car was rear-ended by an SUV. The SUV driver received minor injuries.
Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a barn in Fond du lac County. Firefighters from a dozen departments were called to the the scene at N4578 River Road, in the Town of Byron Friday night. The barn contained approximately 250 round style hay bales. The barn and its contents are considered a total loss. The fire is believed to be caused by a lightning strike.

From checking bags to manning concession stands, golf fans say it's the ultimate volunteer experience.
