8-26-15 bicycle deaths up in wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The number of cyclists killed in crashes this year in Wisconsin is more than double last year. Nine people have died while biking this year, compared to four fatalities in 2014. An analysis by a University of Milwaukee traffic safety researcher found more than a third of recent fatalities involved vehicles that hit the bicyclists from behind.

Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Corp. has won a major contract to build a new combat vehicle to replace a large share of the military's Humvee troop carriers.  The Department of Defense on Tuesday awarded the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle contract to Oshkosh Defense. 8-26-15 car slams into house in waupun

Nobody was injured when a Waupun woman accidentally slammed her car into a house in Waupun. The accident happened Tuesday morning at 112 Elm Avenue.  The driver, 69 year old Sandra Fretschel, told police she was attempting to park her car in the Waupun Memorial Hospital parking lot when the accelerator stuck.  The car went across Elm Avenue, striking the house.

8-26-15 ripon man accused of hiding brother’s body found competent

A Ripon man accused of hiding his brother's body has been found competent to stand trial in Fond du Lac County.  Investigators say Robert Diamentis placed the body of his 45 year old brother in a barrell at a residence on Olden Road after his brother died back in February.  The body was discovered in May when sheriff’s deputies made a welfare check.  According to a criminal complaint Diamentis told […]
