Bail has been set at $75,000 cash for an Illinois man accused of sexually assaulting a 12 year old Fond du Lac girl. Thirty seven year old Paul Zidarich is charged with first degree sexual assault of a child and attempted sexual assault of a child. He is accused of fondling the girl during an incident at the child’s home two years ago. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 3rd.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
