A former supervisor at Fond du Lac’s two outdoor swimming pools and assistant coach with the Fondy Swim Club accused of sexually assaulting a lifeguard has been bound over for trial. Ryan Ronayne waived his preliminary hearing Friday on charges of sexual assault of a child by a person who works with children and one count of child enticement. Ronayne was also employed with the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office and before that had worked for a short time in the Fond du Lac County Jail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
