todaySeptember 4, 2015

A Ripon man accused of hiding his brother’s body has been bound over for trial in Fond du Lac County. Robert Diamentis was back in court Thursday for  a preliminary hearing and facing a new charge..recklessly subjecting an individual at risk to abuse causing death.  That charge carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison. Investigators say Diamentis placed the body of his 45 year old brother in a barrell at a residence on Olden Road after his brother died back in February.  The body was discovered in May when sheriff’s deputies made a welfare check.  According to a criminal complaint Diamentis told detectives his brother suffered from a medical condition which causes mobility and coordination issues and was very difficult to care for.  He says his brother died February 24th, but he didn’t report the death because he was concerned people would accuse him of mistreating his brother.
