The Fond du Lac County Clerk says she took an oath to uphold the law when she was sworn into office. In reaction to a county clerk in Kentucky being hauled off to jail for refusing to license same-sex marriages, Fond du lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says that clerk should resign. “I feel if it becomes personal in my life if it affects my family or myself then it is time to resign,” Freiberg told WFDL news. “That is really the only option out there.” Freiberg says nobody can choose what laws they want to follow.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
