MILWAUKEE (AP) — The current season’s still going, but for anyone planning ahead, the Milwaukee Brewers will open the 2016 season at home against the San Francisco Giants on April 4. It’s the start of a six-game homestand over seven days. Milwaukee has a four-game home/away interleague series against the Twins from April 18-21. The Brewers also will host a pair of 10-game homestands. The team’s longest road trip is an 11-game trip in September.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
