The president of the Fond du lac city council says she’s not hearing a groundswell of support for a pedal pub ordinance in the city. The Fond du Lac city council will consider the ordinance at their meeting Wednesday evening. LeeAnn Lorrigan says so far the only support she’s heard regarding pedal pubs is a local bar owner who said he was interested in the idea. Last week a group of eight health care organizations and coalitions announced their opposition to the proposed ordinance, expressing concern about the message it sends to young people.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
