Starting today personal email addresses of Fond du Lac school board members will be published on the school district website. The board made the decision after discussing the matter in a workshop session last night. Up until now school board vice president Mark Jurgella was the only board member who had made his email address public. Jurgella says he thinks email is a great way for people to contact elected officials. A check of the records shows the Fond du Lac school board was the only governmental body in Fond du Lac County that did not list email addresses of its elected board members.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
