On Monday, September 14, 2015 at 6:10 pm the Fond du Lac County 911 Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 151 NB just north of Hwy 45. Responding agencies were Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Deputies, City of Fond du Lac Fire & EMS, Town of Fond du Lac Fire/First Responders and Flight for Life.
Investigation indicates the Driver of a NB vehicle left the roadway, striking the median guardrail.
The driver, Leslyn Shires, 76 years old of Fond du Lac was transported to St Agnes Hospital where she later died. Preliminary indications were that she might have suffered a medical issue that caused the crash and the injuries sustained in the crash were the cause of her death. Shires was the former Fond du Lac Public Library director. This is the 7th traffic fatality in Fond du Lac County this year.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
