Fond du Lac city councilmember Brian Foster is resigning his seat next month. Foster, says he is leaving the council because he is moving outside the city of Fond du Lac. Foster is the warden at the Green Bay Correctional Institution. Foster was appointed to the council in 2014. His seat is up for election next April. The council will decide whether to appoint someone to the seat or leave it vacant until the election.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
