A Madison man has made his initial Dodge County Circuit Court appearance after allegedly shooting at another vehicle Sunday night outside of the Fox Lake Kwik Trip. 21 year old Anthony McCaskill Jr. is charged with discharging a firearm towards a person, endangering safety/reckless use of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. Bail was set at 25 thousand dollars cash. The incident allegedly unfolded after McCaskill and his girlfriend got into an argument with other people at Kwik Trip. Then while traveling on Highway A, McCaskill is accused of firing shots at the other vehicle. Bullets struck the vehicle, but no one was injured. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 24th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
