Moraine Park Technical College is hosting the second annual Great Pink Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Fond du Lac campus. Money raised from this event will make it possible for women battling breast cancer to attend the “Infinite Boundaries Wellness Retreat,” organized by the Breast Cancer Recovery, an organization whose mission is to provide environments for women breast cancer survivors to heal emotionally. We are encouraging registrants to register by Oct. 2, so we would appreciate if you would run the attached news release before this date so the public has enough time to register for the event.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
