todaySeptember 21, 2015

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — One of every four female undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who responded to a survey last spring said they’ve been sexually assaulted.  The Association of American Universities administered the survey across 27 institutions. UW-Madison officials say about 9,000 students, or about 22 percent of the school’s students, responded to it. The results of the survey were released Monday.  Nearly 28 percent of UW-Madison female undergraduate respondents said they’ve been sexually assaulted. More than three-quarters of the women who reported being sexually assaulted said the offender had been drinking.  Chancellor Rebecca Blank issued a statement saying sexual misconduct is unacceptable. The statement noted that UW-Madison has required all new undergrads to go through a sexual assault prevention program since 2014.
