Authorities have released the names of the people involved in a fatal two vehicle traffic accident Sunday afternoon in the Town of Beaver Dam. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department says a southbound car driven by 81 year old Margaret Johansson of Houston, Texas, crossed the centerline on County Trunk A and struck a northbound station wagon, driven by 65 year old Keith Knop of Port Washington. Knop was flown by Flight For Life helicopter to Aurora Hospital in Summit, where he died Monday morning. A passenger, 65 year old Rise Andersen of Port Washington, was flown by Med Flight helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison. Johansson was transported to Beaver Dam Community hospital with non-life threating injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
