A Fond du Lac woman is facing charges after allegedly embezzling over 200 thousand dollars fror her former employer in Dodge County. Five counts of theft in a business setting have been filed against 46 year old Tessa Hilt. Hilt is accused of taking the money from Waas Boring and Cable Company in Lomira. She was the office manager from 2009 until 2014, when she left her postion and had filed a lawsuit claiming sexual harassment or discrimination in the workplace. The company found the financial discrepencies while preparing a defense against the lawsuit. An initial Dodge County Circuit Court appearance for Hilt has been scheduled for October 5th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
