Warning that the Republican presidential race has become too nasty, Scott Walker says he’s “suspending” his White House bid. Walker urged others to quit, too, and “clear the field” so someone can emerge to take down front-runner Donald Trump. Walker says he’s believes he’s “being called” to encourage that “a positive conservative message can rise to the top.” One of the last Republicans to enter the race, Walker joined former Texas Gov. Rick Perry as one of the first to leave it. He found himself unable to adjust to Trump’s popularity or break out in either of the first two GOP debates. Ripon College political science professor Marty Farerll says Walker seemed to be stuck using the same talking points. “He is not able to command the attention,” Farrell told WFDL news. “There’s a lack of spontaneity there. And whatever else you think about Trump you can’t deny that he is spontaneous and he gives the impression anyway that he says what’s on his mind. But Scott Walker, maybe he is not that good at thinking on his feet.”
