On Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 8:04 am the Fond du Lac County 911 Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 26 at CTH TC in the town of Springvale. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol, Rosendale Fire Dept and First Responders, Lifestar EMS and the Fond du Lac County Highway Dept responded. Investigation indicates a car driven by a 20 year old Marquette WI man was eastbound on CTH TC, driver failed to stop for the stop sign at Hwy 26 and was struck by a Semi that was NB on Hwy 26. The driver of the Semi tractor trailer unit a 52 yr old man from Fort Atkinson, was not injured. The driver of the eastbound car, a 20 year old Marquette WI man, died at the scene.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
