Bail has been set at $10,000 cash for a Campbellsport man arrested for his 6th owi. Thomas Starzman made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance this week. According to a criminal complaint a sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle weaving and crossing the center line near the intersection of County Highway BB and Highway W. The deputy says Starzman refused to perform a field sobriety test and also refused to take a preliminary breath test.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
