9-15-15 illinois man pleads not guilty in death of fdl toddler

A man accused of killing a toddler by standing on top of the child has pleaded not guilty.  Daniel Griffin entered the plea at an arraignment hearing in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court.  Griffin is charged with reckless homicide and child abuse.  The victim’s mother, Airealle Smart also pleaded not guilty to charges of neglecting a child  and neglecting a child causing death.  The incident happened earlier this summer […]

9-15-15 head on collision near oshkosh sends four to the hospital

A head on collision in Winnebago County has sent four people to the hospital with serious injuries.   Investigators say shortly before 11 pm Monday a car collided with an SUV on Highway 26 near County Highway Z in the town of Nekimi.  Three people in the car were critically injured and the SUV driver received serious, but non-life threatening injuries.  Highway 26 was closed for several hours while crews worked […]

Four months after approving a beekeeping ordinance Fond du Lac city officials are considering an ordinance that would allow residents to keep chickens in residential areas.  Two Fond du lac residents are asking for changes to the municipal code that would allow them to raise chickens on their property. 9-15-15 preliminary hearing rescheduled for fdl motel robbery suspect

A preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a 22 year old Fond du Lac man arrested in connection with the robbery of the Microtel Inn.  The attorney for Ryder Klaassen was not able to appear in court Friday and the hearing was rescheduled for September 25th.   Klaassen is charged with armed robbery, accused of robbing the motel at gunpoint August 30th.  He is being held in the Fond du […]

The Fond du Lac Area United Way has kicked  off this year’s fundraising campaing.  United Way Executive Director Amber Kilawee says this year’s goal is $756,000.  Kilawee says Brenner Tank and Society insurance are the pace setters this year’s fund drive.  "We are just under $120,000.  Brenner Tank and Society Insurance account for half of that kick-off goal,"  Kilawee said.   This Wednesday the United Way is teaming up with […]
