9-4-15 invasive fish found in lower fox river

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources has confirmed round gobies have been found in the lower Fox River. DNR officials said in a news release Thursday that the fish were caught immediately below the Neenah dam. A DNR spokeswoman said one was caught on Monday and two more on Tuesday. The aggressive, bottom-dwelling fish are native to the Black and Caspian seas.

9-3-15 school budget cuts impact

9-3-15 burnett woman sentenced in convenience store robbery

A Burnett woman will spend some time in jail for her role in the robbery of a Beaver Dam convenience store, as well as dealing heroin. At a plea and sentencing hearing this week, 21 year old Kellie Diels pleaded no contest to charges of harboring or aiding a felon and manufacturing or delivering heroin. 9-3-15 fox valley attorney charged with contempt

An Appleton attorney from Fond du Lac is charged with contempt for allegedly misrepresenting his client in a robbery case.  Michael Petersen pleaded not guilty at his initial Outagamie County Court appearance this week.  A trial is set for October.  Investigators say Peterson lied when he told his client that if he pled guilty the charges would later be amended making him eligible for prison treatment programs.  Petersen is accused […]

9-3-15 microtel robbery arrest

A 22 year old Fond du Lac man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the Microtel Inn Sunday.  Assistant police chief Steve Klein says police officers arrested the suspect without incident Tuesday afternoon at an East Second Street residence.  Klein says it appears there may have been other people involved and additional arrests are anticipated.  Police say evidence from the crime was found during the investigation.  The […]
