9-24-15 ho-chunk marijuana

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Ho-Chunk Nation has voted to change the rules on using marijuana on its tribal lands.  Ho-Chunk announced Saturday that its General Council voted to reverse a policy that made the use and sale of marijuana on tribal lands illegal. 9-24-15 walker says he won’t accept cabinet position

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Governor Scott Walker says he won't accept a Cabinet position if a Republican is elected president. Walker made the comments in a call with donors Wednesday, two days after he abruptly dropped out of the race. Walker also told donors he plans to stay on as governor through the end of his term.

9-24-15 local unemployment rate drops

The unemployment rate is down locally in the latest reporting period.  The  city of Fond du Lac’s unemployment rate in August was 3.8 percent, down from 4.5 percent in July.  Fond du Lac county’s rate dropped  from 4.1 to 3.6 percent.  The Dodge County unemployment rate fell six tenths of a percent to 3.8 percent.

9-24-15 homeless fdl couple caught having sex in public bathroom

A homeless couple is accused of having sex in a public bathroom in Fond du lac and living on the roof of the building.  Jordan Smack and Zana Schade, both 18, are charged with public fornication, resisting and disorderly conduct.  Police say they were caught having sex in a Cobblestone Square bathroom. Fond du Lac Festivals, Inc. officials say Walleye Weekend 2015 provided $205,549.91 to the non-profits participating in the festival. Officially there were 54 groups representing 45 non-profits including service organizations, schools, churches and other non-profits.
