CINCINNATI (AP) — Newly elected U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan has said he found himself while in college in John Boehner’s home county in southwest Ohio.  At Miami University, Ryan took a deep dive into the study of conservative economic philosophies and dipped his toe into congressional politics as a low-level volunteer for Boehner.  The Wisconsin Republican was elected Thursday to succeed Boehner. Ryan has said he spent much of his “formative years” in Oxford, Ohio, and found his sense of identity and direction. He graduated in 1992.  He returned to Miami in 2009 as a commencement speaker and again in 2012 as Mitt Romney’s running mate in the presidential elections.  A favorite professor, Rich Hart, expects Ryan to be an effective, proactive speaker. He thinks Ryan’s fractious colleagues can coalesce around him.
