10-28-15 wisconsin insurance rates increase under health care law

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The U.S. Health and Human Services Department says the cost of its benchmark plan on HealthCare.gov will go up less in Wisconsin than the national average.  Silver plan rates will go up 4.7 percent here, compared with 7.5 percent nationally.  The rates came out Monday on the website established under President Barack Obama's health care law. 10-28-15 school voucher enrollment up significantly

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Enrollment in Wisconsin's statewide private school voucher program has more than doubled since enrollment caps were lifted.  The state Department of Public Instruction on Tuesday reported that 2,514 students were enrolled in a voucher school for the current year. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Assembly has approved a bill that would allow people to carry switchblades. The Republican bill would eliminate the state's prohibition on possessing, purchasing and selling switchblades, defined as any knife with a blade that opens by pressing a button, spring or other device in the handle, with gravity or with a thrusting movement. 10-27-15 ripon man sentenced in counterfeit scam

A Ripon man convicted in a counterfeiting scam is going to prison.  The U.S. Department of Justice says 52 year old Robert James Zoellner was sentenced to a year and a half in federal prison and three years of extended supervision.
