A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with an SUV Wednesday afternoon in Dodge County. The accident happened on Highway 33 at the intersection with County Trunk P in the Town of Herman. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department says a motorcycle operated by 56 year old William Brown of Wauwatosa was traveling east on Highway 33 approaching the intersection. An SUV driven by 68 year old Toni Henkel of Oconomowoc was traveling west on 33, when she initiated a left turn at the intersection with Highway P. The motorcycle struck side of the SUV. Brown, who was wearing a helmet, suffered severe injuries and was flown from the scene by Flight for Life helicopter to Froedert Hospital. Henkel suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital. The accident remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
